After refining and rehearsing their original W.A.R. Eagles compositions, students began presenting their work to the class. Students evaluated each other's presentations, identifying specific things that they believed were done effectively and offering constructive criticism, citing specific things that could be done differently to improve the overall quality of the work. The evaluation process has become a standard component of our work in Music & Media. Students are learning how to critically view and listen to live and recorded works and identify specific elements that enhance/support quality and effectiveness. They are also learning how to offer (and accept) constructive criticism. The videos below show growth throughout the project, from song development through refinement and presentations of the compositions. The groups featured in the videos also earned the opportunity to present their compositions at our Spoken Word Workshop in January, 2017.
