Songwriting Project: The Blues, The Civil Rights Movement

Music & Media students completed their second round of original songwriting during the second semester, with each class writing and recording lyrical hooks and verses on specific themes - "The Blues" and "The Civil Rights Movement." The Songwriting Project provides students with the opportunity to explore their creative and expressive potential while meeting several of the National Standards for General Music (listed below). The project also serves as a creative way for students to demonstrate their understanding of course content, such as the Blues and its connection to history and culture.
